See Jane Run Hannah Jayne Books

Have you ever read a book that was written so poorly you had to stop at least once a page and shake your head in disbelief? If not, SEE JANE RUN will give you that disappointing literary experience you never wanted to have. Writer Hannah Jayne has never met an adjective, adverb, simile or metaphor she didn't try to cram in this overwritten novel. While some of her words would have been clever and unique had she used them sparingly, Jayne seems not to have gotten the memo first time creative, second time okay, fifteenth time overbearing.
Additionally, the dialogue didn't sound as if it came from a seventeen year old. Most of the time the teens sounded like middle schoolers and behaved just as immaturely. Jayne put in way too much dialogue about mundane topics not central to the plot or characters, and extra words that read like page fillers to get a manuscript up to a certain number of words. Most of the major and minor characters where cliched and one dimensional.
I recommend you not purchase or download this book, even if it's free, unless you want an example of overwriting to the point of unreadable.

See Jane Run Hannah Jayne Books Reviews

I found the style and story difficult to get into. As the plot developed it became more interesting, but didn't hold my attention throughout. I can see it being of more interest to young adults.
Pretty good read, with some plausible twists and turns, and things tie together fairly well in the end. I like an occasional YA type of genre, they generally "read well" (fairly fluid and quick to get through). Not something I would read again but enjoyed this while I was reading it.
I accidentally ordered this book and read it anyway. I thought I was ordering a different See Jane Run. For a t book geared toward young adolescents, it's not bad. The writing is average, but the storyline is enjoyable.
Had some intrigue to it, but seemed pretty far fetched, especially when the sheltered little girl takes a train, bus and trip to a hospital and court house all on her own. Somewhat predictable once you get half way in and more geared to teens young adults than someone who likes the classics and deeper and heavier reading. A fine way to blow through a cold weekend though.
If this book was supposed to be for young adults, it was just ok. If intended for adult readers, it totally missed the mark. Very poorly written and the plot line was unbelievable. Save your time and money
Riley Spencer is an ordinary high school girl. She and her parents have moved into a new subdivision, which makes Riley feel more isolated than ever. Her parents are already way too overprotective, not even letting her go on a school trip to visit colleges. When Riley’s best friend Shelby comes over, they find a birth certificate which isn’t Riley’s but belongs to Jane Elizabeth O’Leary. After searching online for anything about Jane, Riley starts getting mysterious messages and feels like she’s being followed. All Riley wants to do is find out who Jane is and what relation she has to her and her family. Yet the answers may be more than she bargained for…

SEE JANE RUN is a YA thriller/mystery with an interesting cast of characters and a secret which threatens to tear a family apart. I liked Riley, even with her panic attacks and paranoia, which were explained later in the book. I wasn’t a fan of Shelby and thought she acted like a twit instead of a true best friend. JD Davison is the bad boy who is looking out for Riley (and may want to be more than just friends) and I really liked his character. Parts of the story I was able to figure out pretty quickly, but there were other aspects which eluded me until the ending. I enjoyed the quick pace of the story which helped me be fully engaged. While I wasn’t a fan of some of the behavior of the characters, I did like the overall effect it had on setting the stage for Riley’s search. SEE JANE RUN is a suspenseful story in the truest sense of the word!
If I had a dollar for every time I rolled my eyes..... The story premise itself is okay, my problem is with the delivery. The dialog was so sophomoric. Like when out of the blue JD says to Riley, "I'm surprised you don't have a problem with elevators." There was no backstory to provoke that comment but it gave Riley an opportunity to recall a memory of being afraid in an elevator at age 5. Not sure why. Riley goes to the hospital to see her friend Shelby who has 8 brothers and sisters along with her parents. But Riley is able to visit her alone, crawl in bed with her and fall asleep through the entire night without being disturbed by the rest of Shelby's family or nurses. Lame.
