Great book!I am reading it for the second time now, as it is stuffed with so many information, that you are not able memorize them all after just one reading session.
What I found really good, is that off course Dr. Hahn is defending his thesis and trying to convince the reader, but at the same time he is not claiming that infections with atypical bacteria are the only cause of asthma. I have read few books on health care and authors of most of them, claim to have the one and only cure for the disease, or know the one and only method to stay in good health.
Dr. Hahn is confident in his findings, but is also advocating for more studies to confirm OR refute his thesis.
I can only recommend this book to all interested in asthma or COPD. At the same time I hope to hear of more studies on this topic, but I guess that since there is not to much money to make on antibiotics (compared to other medications), they will need to be done by some public organisations.

I can't wait to take this book to my physician. It is so frustrating to have to deal with something that most doctors consider to be "in your head". Well, yes, that's partly where it is, but it's also in my sinuses and my lungs, and I'd really like to get rid of it! Not being able to breathe is uncomfortable at best, and scary at worst. I won't tell you what he recommends, but it is nothing but common sense, although you won't find his recommendation to be the current guideline for treating asthma. I had a similar situation come up 12 years ago, and mercifully, I had a physician who listened to me and we worked out a plan to treat a case of sinusitis that I had had for 10 months! It involved the same treatment that Dr. Hahn recommends. It did the trick! Now, I have to consult with a new physician and hope that this one will be as accommodating as my first physician.
I come from a medical family and we do what is necessary without over-treating situations. I think Dr. Hahn should be commended for putting this in print and doing such a clear, concise, and authoritative job, including having all due diligence presented. Thank you, Dr. Hahn!!
Highly recommended for chronic asthmatics. Well written with clear case studies, research, and a potential plan of action. It certainly helped me.
Very interesting and helpful for someone with severe asthma. My case is mild and controlled with inhalers at this time. Dr. Hahn's theory that asthma stays in the lungs at all times is something I have said to my pulmonologist. I feel that it's always there and flares up when certain conditions are met such as stress, allergies, a cold, lack of sleep.
I loved the book. For asthma sufferers who are looking to find a potential cure, Dr. Hahn's book identifies some new (bacterial) causes for asthma that may apply to many people who are not aware. And the bottom line is that the research highlighted in the book could help someone who is still searching for both the cause and a cure for their own asthma. It may not apply to everyone but at least it gives hope to some. I enjoyed the book and gave my copy to my primary care doctor who seemed interested in learning more about Dr. Hahn's research and findings.
Very enlightening. I've had asthma for 58yrs. and this book while contradicting conventional remedies. Gives some ideas that I tried that actually work. Definitely recommend this book for anyone who has asthma.
I read this book and then I asked my asthma doctor if I could have my blood tested to see if I could qualify for the medicine necessary to try and cure my asthmatic symptoms. No luck, so I asked my primary care doctor and got my blood tested to see if my blood was positive. It was and she has me on the medicine. Now time will tell if it's going to work in my case. Thanks to Dr. Hann for giving me hope!
I developed asthma as an adult. My life was miserable. I wheezed 24/7. I could never get a full breath. And my coughing fits were debilitating. Of course, I was on every drug available, but even the steroids did not prevent me from using the rescue inhaler every 4 hours-but wanting it more! I was at a point where I just wanted to give up. Then I started surfing the internet for anything that might help. Finally I found Dr. Hahn's protocol, but neither my Pulmonologist or primary doctor felt comfortable trying his plan. My kind pulmonologist even said ,"I'm sorry, but you know I have been brainwashed in school that what I am doing is the best way to help you". I got an appointment with Dr. Hahn. He was wonderful. I started his protocol and within 2 weeks I had totally eliminated my rescue inhaler! I hung on to the steroid inhaler for a little over a month. My life was given back to me! I have had a few ups and downs and had to repeat his protocol, but I am now totally asthma free! Dr. Hahn gave my life back to me! I can breathe!!!! This book could be your lifesaver, too!
