I'm rereading this part of this series as I just Started Disinherited. And need to refresh the time and space in my mine, I got way to many worlds in my head at the moment reading 2 series and one stand alone novel. But this is one of the better war and science fiction series and good read.

I enjoyed this book, as with the others in the series. However, I would like to see a book devoted to ISW3-the Rigelian war.
As a side note, I love the way Admiral Antonov holds politicians in utter contempt.
Really wish that Weber & White (or either separately) would flesh out this series like the HH books. ISW4 (the Bugs) had to great books devoted to it. What about ISW 1 through 3? The Rigelian wars really appear to be interesting.
It was a very fast paced story and it was very fun to read. I would recommend getting the audio book due to the various alien and Russian words in the book that are hard to pronounce in your head.
It's a David Weber space battle book. There's stupid politicians, brave admirals, implacable foes, technical details, casualty lists, orders of battle, lasers, missiles, ECM, one side winning because their toys are more advanced, and probably a kinda stilted romance.
I find the work of David Weber and Steve White believable, complex and engrossing. It is my hope they will continue in this venue. Their Sci-Fi is not as rich in character development as some of their competitors, but the story line is more than compensated by the magnificent and logical development of various competitive civilizations. The work is educational and tremendously entertaining. Can't wait to discover another ...
The details and depth I've come to expect from a Weber novel.
Political B.S. didn't get in the way of good yarn.
Great imagination and depth of plotting. Huge battles depicted very well. Exciting fights, battles and a huge war. Fun read.
It's an ok story, but I expected better from David Weber. He has written many of my favorite books so this was a little off.
