This book lives up to its title!!! o) For anyone who loves Lucy Monroe, this book is one more treat. This book continues her wonderful attention to the espionage agents in our country and the women who are their waterloos! o) Lucy spins a wonderful story that will keep you guessing and you will fall in love with all her characters!
This book was fast paced, scintillatingly sexy, and an extremely hilarious ride. The characters are well-developed and I honestly didn't want the book to end.
I just didn't get invested in the characters. Very predictable. Trudged through it hoping it would get better, didn't.
I didn't feel the author built the relationship up enough. It was mostly all about the sex, which was plentiful (or at least talking about it was). There was hardly any interaction with any other characters. Also, the heroine seemed to be all over the map. First she was really insecure and trying to find the romantic dream of belonging, then she becomes the exact same thing she is trying to escape (why did she become an agent at the end?). And a really picky point - the phone sex was the stupidest thing I've ever read. I mean, the words that the author had the man speaking would just never make it out of a real man's mouth during sex, even phone sex. I don't think would appreciate me pointing out the specific words, so I won't. But in the throes of passion, a person does not use the anatomically correct terms to refer to body parts, they use lingo. I actually laughed at that passage of the book. I'll be thinking twice before I buy another Lucy Monroe.
If you are a fan of the "Ready," "Willing," "And Able" series than this is a must for you. "And Able" was the story of Claire & Brett (better known as "Hotwire"); you may remember Ethan Crane from this story.

Well Ethan's story is just as hot and steamy with fantastic characters and a great story line!!

If this is the beginning of her next series than I can hardly wait for the next story to come out!!
Contemporary romance with protected sex. #6 in the series.

I liked this one. I KNEW Ethan would make a good hero when we were introduced to him in the last book. Beth is a good heroine. I liked that she stuck to her principles, even as she thought she was losing Ethan. I hate a wuss heroine.
Kind of slow in places, but otherwise worth reading
Not what I have come to expect from Lucy Monroe. This novel had "hot monkey sex" as mentioned by the heroine, but the actual suspense really, really missed. It was a shame, because the raw materials were there to develop the characters beautifully.

Approximately 54% of the book elapsed before the duo left on their mission and the entire mission was way too easy. Compared to other books in this series, this book was a dud. Sex was the main course, with a tiny bit of sleuthing and zero danger. I much prefer the opposite in action/suspense romantic novels. Obviously, sex sells, but this was more Penthouse without pictures, with a little intrigue thrown in for camouflage.

Beth's inner turmoil was constant, mainly because she spent most of the book in either fantasies that embarrassed her or introspection that never really solved anything. Her 180° view of her life goals morphing was not relatable the way the story was told. She changed to fit the relationship with Ethan, while his greatest concession was to make sure his only assignments, going foward, were ones she partnered with him, when he always worked alone before their first mission. She compromised 90% to his 10%.

Ethan's character had very little substance for the relationship angle. Nothing that explained the journey he traveled to end up where he was in his life, why he made the choices he did. The best character development was him discussing his family and his interaction with characters from another series. (Ready, Willing and Able).

I also liked the introduction of agents who we get to know better in later TGP novels. While this book is average at best, Lucy Monroe is a wonderful author, other books in this series are terrific, and some of her other series are even better. This book isn't absolutely necessary to enjoying or understanding other TGP novels, but I recommend borrowing it from the library, anyway. The tie-ins to other stories are enjoyable, especially Rachel Gannon's in the TGP series and Brett Adam's (Hotwire) in the Ready, Willing and Able series.
